I work at a Archery/Gun shop part time (retirement aint what it is cracked up to be) and the boss didn't make the deal so he aint no crook.
A man came in yesterday and looked at a Rossi 44/40 92 lever action, today he came back in and ask if we would trade, well the boss was very busy but I do not like to make a decision with his money. So I called him over and the man threw a spotless Savage 99 in 308 and said this for the Rossi. The boss ask how much he wanted boot/ I almost droped a bow I was showing a man when he said I do not want anything but the 44/40 and the dies that comes with it.
To make a long story short the boss tried to talk him into boot but the man said "no" what you are asking on the 44/40 is more than I gave for the Savage.
Wish I could come across a deal like that an couldn't talk the man into taking boot.

Good story. Hadn't heard "boot" used that way before. My grandfather was from Texas, but passed when I was small. An honest man in Texas, no surprise.

The boss is going to take it to the house as he said he thought he would keep it for a while to see if the man was happy.
We trade archery equipment for firearms not firearms for archery equipment, saying that you can't believe the GOOD firearms we get for a bow.
I have a bow set up and all said that if I got a bow to go hunting with I would neglect my rifles "aint happned". Still go to the range twice a week.
