I recently aquired a Marlin model 1894 cowboy classic in 45 Colt. I would like to convert this rifle to 45 ACP if such a conversion is feasible. Can anyone provide any information on this conversion and possibly suggest a gunsmith who might do the work? Any help appreciated.

I used to have such a gunsmith saved to my favorites, not anymore.
It is a doable conversion but it is not cheap as I recall.
It is also possible to rework it to 45 Special.
Do a search for such conversions and it will pop up.
Good luck.

Converting a lever-action designed to work with long rimmed cartridges to work with short rimless cartridges is quite a feat.
As StrawHat said, it would not be cheap.
It would be far less expensive to reload, and make the .45 Colt do whatever it is you want it to do as a .45 ACP.
