Hey, I'm lookin at a Black Gold CRKT K.I.S.S. (Model 5500GK) (http://www.crkt.com/24ksspck.html). I know the AUS6 isn't the best steel around, but I don't really need top of the line steel for a knife like this. I just want kind of a gentleman's/money clip/last ditch backup knife, so AUS6 is fine. What are your thoughts on this knife? Any reasons I shouldn't buy it?

I really like mine, and think it's a groovy piece of industrial design. The thought of it being some kind of "last-ditch weapon" is kind of amusing however, as I can think of few knives less suited to combative purposes.

No reasons not to buy it! CRKT makes great stuff. If we can help, let me know! Have a cool day! Paul

I know, I know... I was halfway joking, but all I'm saying is in a life-threatening situation, would you rather have that or nothing?

Paul:
I see the 24kt. KISS, (Model 5500G) but not the black gold (Model 5500GK) on your site. I'm usually against black finishes (the only reason I have a Kershaw Blackout is because it was such a great deal), but I think the black looks much better on this model, and I don't expect to put it through hard enough use that it will wear off anytime soon. Anyway, your prices look very good, and if you can get the black model in, I will gladly do business with a fellow High Roader.

...Either that or I could save a little more and get a Benchmade "Big Spender". The steel is a little better (440C), but it costs more and I like the KISS design, plus if I went with the Benchmade it would take a much longer time to save up for the CRKT M16 I'm looking at.

i have one and its a nifty design
its easy to carry and it stays shut in the pocket

its not that great of a carving tool for me
as the Tanto chisel edge is on the wrong side of the blade

CRKT makes decent stuff and for what it is, it ain't bad.

The most important thing is that you like it.

However, having an exposed blade like that just bugs me... :uhoh:

The-Distinctive-Edge, you have a mess of broken links on your site.

VERY sloppy!

You'll need to do a better job of providing COMPLETE information on every knife before I'd send any money your way, too.
