What are your opinions on the various methods employed to keep pocket holsters in your pocket as you draw your weapon (hooks, thumb push release, friction/sticky outer material, etc). Do any of them work better than the others or have any particular disadvantages?

The only pocket holster I have ever owned is my newly aquired (this year) DeSantis Nemesis for the LCP. At first it was a little tight, but after a couple weeks of carrying and practice drawing, it works well for me. When I reach in and grab the grip and draw the LCP, the holster stays in my pocket. It has that black, sticky rubber on the outside. I thought about getting a leather one, but this works so great that I've decided against it.

Either a DeSantis Superfly/Nemesis, or something like a FIST Kydex pocket holster. I have a Superfly for my Taurus PT-22 I occasionally carry as a second gun, in case I need to kill a rodent, and a FIST for my Glock 27, which can be carried in a few pairs of shorts and a pair of pants I have. Will probably see more use in the winter, in a jacket pocket as a second gun. IWB will never go out of style for me.

I use an Uncle Mike's. In order to ensure that the holster is retained in the pocket when I draw, I grasp the gun by the handle and lightly press the holster into my leg as I pull up. Works every time.
