Well went to the range today fired 3 guns. A S&W 351PD .22Mag, fired CCI Maxi Mag; Ruger LCP .380 Fired Buffalo Bore 95gr FMJ-FN and Hornady 90 gr JHP/XTP; and my new EAA Witness P Compact .45 fired Magtech 230 gr FMC.

The pics show the results, limp wristed two rounds with the Witness, other than that I am totally impressed.

The LCP, found out I cannot shoot the Buffalo Bore. Fired 7 rounds and had to give them up. Holy crap!!!! I am either gonna have to shoot a lot of them or not shoot them at all. I'm conident I'd hit my target, the grouping wasn't bad, but fired low. But I probably don't shoot enough anymore.

The 351PD, yes I know its a wheel gun, sorry. I am having some FTF issues with. I think I've only encountered those issues since firing CCI's. I have some Winchesters, but forgot to bring them. So next time I go I'll shoot the Win's and see what happens.

On to the Witness. Only four magazines, 32 rounds. On the targets you'll see two stray rounds. My fault, not used to the trigger, rather sensitive, and I fired before I wanted to. Only group I was displeased was the 25 ft group. Still not bad, I am confident at that range I'd be able to hit a BG, or come close enough to him to scare the crap outta him.

But out of the box, no tweaking, no polishing, just a few drops of oils and I think it shot very well. When I was going to the range weekly, I porobably would have shot better, but in the past 13 years I've probably been to the range a half dozen times. I'm pretty rusty to say the least.

Sounds good so far. I'm always interested to hear how CZ clones
perform.

Not sure if I was supposed to take your comments with a bit of sarcasm or not. But I kinda did. I gave my range results in an innocent light. Not to say the "clone" is better or worse. But to merely let other gun buyers know how my weapon performed.

Had I not read the article by Pat Cascio in the American Handgunner, I probably would have never even considered this piece by EAA. Pat Cascio stated "this was the most accurate out-of-the-box pistol I can ever recall testing." And looking at my targets, and believe me I am not the best shot, it appears there was a lot of truth in what he said. Out of the box, I put rounds on top of each other in the target, thats pretty damn impressive. And I think that would give any one that is considering purchasing a handgun for SD a vote of confidence in a weapon.

And if you guys are so wrapped up in bashing clones, look down at your PC, if it doesn't say "IBM" by gosh your using a clone and my bet is it's working just fine!!!!!

Nuff said!

tawcat, relax.
They weren't bashing your EAA. Both of them are BIG CZ (and clone fans). I believe Armoredman has a owned few EAAs in the past, and CZF probably has as well.
All is good.

I think maybe you ran out of your medication. That was more than a little insane:what:

tawcat, I had 6 EAA Witness pistols before I started carrying CZ. I bet my life on an EAA Witness 40, the very first one in 40 imported into the US, for 13 years. Yeah, I like Tanfolgio made pistols, so relax. :) CZF also has a Witness 10mm. You're among friends. :) :)

I have an EAA Witness full sized 22/45 convertible that I really like. Nice gun both ways. "CZ Clone" is a general term widely used for guns based on the original CZ design. There are many from probably two or three dozen makers scattered around the world. Some are possibly made of parts from more than one maker. Most are said to be anywhere from not too bad to first rate...very subective as many are rarely seen here and not very well known.
Something like saying 1911 "type".:)

Never a bad word from me.

Love my TEN, wish it was lighter to carry, but it soaks up recoil
very well.

Approx 5,000 factory and reloads thru her.

Only negative was a cracked Clinton mag along the way.
They are crappy mags to begin with and 5 years of service
is a good record.

Power to the 10!

Guys please accept my apology! Did not really mean my response to be a flame, but I guess it did come off that way.

In the future I will watch my wording and not be so hasty to reply.

I was also hasty in my purchase of the Witness, rather an impulse buy. Wish I had done a bit of homework, very little out there to compliment the Witness. Hard to find holsters, ended up buying a FIST-Inc IWB and a Fobus paddle. Wish Crimson Trace offered hand grips for it as well. Oh well, I'll have to live with it for a while.

Again I apologize for my pointed reply.

I have actually found the comments about the witness to be relatively even. No matter the gun (or any other product for that matter) you will find those who are sure it is junk.

Both my Witness guns are fabulous.

I love those things!
I dated a girl that bought one years ago and it was a TACK DRIVER! (I think it was a Tangfolio.)
She used it for IDPA and wiped the floor with 80% of the guys that shot. (She used to regularly beat the STUFFING out of the two local PD guys which put them in their place after they picked on her.)
That thing ate every single type of ammo we fed it and I can't recall one single failure.....ever. I was impressed.
