Bought my first Glock today...
GO!!!!!!!
October 16, 2008, 01:54 AM
So I took the day off. And decided to get myself a brand new G22. Bought it at a local range. Had a houge slip on put on it, fired about 20 rounds through it and it was crazy accurate.
I also thought it would be fun to compare the accuracy of my G22 up against my Hi Point C9 9mm. The resullts speak for themselves.
Here are some pics.

Here is the target with the G22

And here is the HP C9

Later on today... My neighbor who is retired PD and a huge Glock fan hooked me up with a spare external laser sight and holster that fits the gun and laser perfect.

Not much difference IMO between the targets, Now its time to invest in Shooting classes to tighten up those groups...

'Tis the only Glock I've tried, the 22.
I only rented it, but I could probably do better with it if I had more practice.

Glad you had a good time!
They are great pistols. I own a Glock 17 and 26 both of them have performed flawlessly. That is all I can ask for.
Enjoy.

Was it a new or used Glock? If you want more information regarding the pistol there a site (glocktalk) that will be very informative. I have 4 of them and I have put several thousand rounds through them and the only time they didn't fire was with defective ammo. You will really enjoy shooting when you master the short reset of the trigger.

How many yards were you shooting from?

October 16, 2008, 04:52 PM
What range?
Things like range is very important.
If you are 7 yards out...um you need to keep practicing, but it that's at 100 yards, then your shooting is spectactular.

IF YOU VISIT www.glockstore.com you will find all cool stuff you can get for your Glock and customize it. I have my G22 with a surefire x200 with DG11 which you can get at www.batteryjunction.com also fireing pin and safety plunger in titanium, tungsten guiderod and 22lbs recoil spring, Ultimate trigger stop which you can adjust, Aluminum Trigger extended slide lever. And when you do this if you want you can also put TFO FIBER OPTIC TRITIUM SIGHTS AND why not a crimson trace laser which attaches in the back of the grip. I prommise you that if you do this when you shoot that wonderfull gun again. You will feel as if you had bought another G22.
If you want holsters that will fit this gun with flashlights and stuff go to www.blade-tech.com or www.safariland.com Best molded holsters ever used in my little over 17 years of carring guns on and off duty.
KEEP SAFE.

It's a new Glock..... I was shooting from 7-10 yards with both guns. place was called the Bullet Hole in Kansas City. I agree I need to work on my precision and I'm pretty damn sure I can now that I have pistol that won't misfire on every damn magazine I put through it.

You Go LAD! I carried a Glock 17 and Glock 22 for working guns. I currently own a 17, 23, and 35. They are fine guns, stupidly simple and reliable. I have never owned or shot a HiPoint but I'm going to guess you must have felt like you traded a Chevy for a Caddy.

I have many pistols and one Glock and I would bet my life on it.

Thanks everyone.
I was looking at several brands including Beretta, Ruger and Smith and Wesson. I read mixed review on every brand including Glock, but I figured if the Police and Military for the most part trust Glock then I will too.

I believe with a Glock 22 you can also get a conversion barrel and mags and shoot 9mm with it.

I knew that I could trust the Hi point to get a few hot ones through the barrel at least 7 of the 8 in the magazine , but I'd rather it fire off all of them and have more rounds....
My wife was anti guns until her car got broke into and then she felt all unsafe. So I wanted to make sure that if I have a gun that she (God forbid) ever has to use, it would go off every time she pulls the trigger.
She still isn't a big fan of guns, but she knows where it is and how to fire it. Call me crazy, but I just don't think a locked door and a cell phone to call the police with is good enough defense.
Funny, I never worried about it until I got married last year. It's interesting how that can make you re-evaluate what's most important to you and how to protect it.

Not only that you can get a factory glock .357 sig barrel and use the 40 cal magazines to shoot .357 sig. 3 guns in one.

Congratulations on your new pistol. You might want to rethink the Hogue grip as I had two of them slip and twist, causing the finger grooves to be in the wrong place. I took them off and never had a problem.

You might want to try shooting different weight grain bullets in it. Buy some 165 grain and some 180 grain to see what your gun likes. I know my glock 17 loves 115 grain bullets.... but it just doesn't shoot very well with anything heavier like the 124 and 147 grain.
Good luck with it....glocks will never let you down. My 17 has over 50,000 rounds through it and it still shoots just as accurate and reliable as the first day i bought it.

It's not my imagination that Glocks are easy to shoot! Awesome!!
Congrats on the new Glock GO!! It looks like you have the hardware part of the equation sorted out. Now it's time to get the software programmed properly. Practice, find some coaching, maybe some training, and more practice. You are well armed and in good company with a Glock.
Warning though; they multiply and are not happy alone. One Glock leads to another, and then. I'm on the fence myself between the G-26 or the G-21SF.

October 17, 2008, 11:15 PM
Do they ever multiply! Went from a G19 to a G34 to a G26 to a G17 to a G17L to a G30SF that is gonna get test driven this weekend come Hell or high water!

So are you suggesting that if I want to avoid an epidemic I should no throw water on it? (refer to gremlins if you don't remember what I am talking about) Although it is a Glock and you could throw water, sand, rocks, pine tar, liquid nitrogen and TNT at it and it will still fire flawlessly... :D
I am already wanting a G19 and G32 to go with it. I am still new in my addiction to guns and Glocks in particular. I share an equally addictive passion to motorcycle racing. Thus GO!!!!!!! it's a Moto GP and Valentino Rossi and Yamaha thing. Anyway the only beef I have with Glock is they remind me of the Suzuki GSXR. They are great bikes, but they all look the same. I love the simplicity in the fashion of them but customizing feels like a must.

Congrats on the new glock and good luck fighting the addiction, I haven't been able to beat it yet, but I really haven't been trying that hard (much to my wife's dismay). I'm now looking at a G21 SF, looks to me to be a great home defense weapon.

Okay its settled I'm addicted to Glock, nothing I could do about it. I just gave in.... Next 2 guns are a G19 for CCW and a G21 just to have one.
