Anyone know why my Stoeger Uplander Supreme side by side 20 gauge is firing both barrels? It seems to do it only when my wife shoots it, at least so far.

It is the single trigger model.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

Do you think she may be accidently pulling the trigger a second time under recoil?

I thought about that, and at the risk of sounding like an idiot, I have a question;

My "shotgun expert" tells me that the barrel position switch on the receiver must be moved to either the left or the right to get each barrel to fire.

I always thought the barrel position switch simply designated which barrel fired first.

What does the barrel position switch do on this particular shotgun?

I haven't fired that one, but every double with single selective trigger that I have fired, the position just denoted which barrel would fire first.

Yes, you are correct. And i am an idiot.

Owners manuals are really your friend after all.

Thanks!

I had the same problem with an Uplander Supreme Combo a while back. It would double on both 12 and 20ga. Here is a link to the discussion back then. Be sure to read all the posts. It goes through the whole story and how it happened etc. Good Luck!
