Just bought one of the British mil-surp webbing sling from Apex Gun Parts (Broadarrow/1943 markings). How exactly do they attach to the swivels on a No.4 Mk.1?

Feed the little metal hooks through the rifle's sling attachments, then slip the fabric sling through the metal hooks, so that it makes a sort of loop.

You want to feed the sling so the loop hooks are facing away from the rifle.
They will become extremely uncomfortable when they start digging into your shoulder.

And if they are facing inward they can and eventually will scratch up your rifle.

Holy Old Thread Batman!

See this? It's backwards. Install just the opposite way. Yeah, I still need to fix it.

Smooth side of metal fittings to the inside, the bottom fitting should be a hands width from the swivel and adjust the top fitting as needed. Sling should be approx 45 inches long, some slings sold for the No4 are too long.
