Have you done a search fro "Daewoo"? That should turn up a number of threads about them in the archives.

The short answer is: they're great guns with crappy thumbhole stocks.

Good gun. Horrible stock as already mentioned.

No longer imported. Been told parts are hard to find. I know the accessories I have seen are pricey.

I would go with a standard AR15 unless the price is great or you really like it.

They were great when they first came in with the collaspible or folding stock. However, they are getting hard to find and the prices keeps going up on them.

You can use an Ace stock on the gun and make it quite ergonomic. Legally!

I have one of these I bought it in 1995 for $380.00 and have never shot it, at the time is was about 2/3 of the price an AR so I thought it seemed like a descent alternative since it used AR mags.
Thanks for the info and that stock does blow.

Very reliable. Accurate. No longer imported, so parts are getting harder to find. I researched them when one was for sale locally. I should have bought it. They are not prone to breakags so the parts issue doesn't seem to be that critical. Depends on how much you are going to shoot it I guess. Do a search on:

If it is quite a bit cheaper than a Bushmaster go for it. It actually uses a better gas system than an AR and some people think they are better guns for that reason.

I forgot about the adjustable gas port that was one thing I found appealing.
