Does anybody have information (preferably from experience, I've already seen their website a few times) about Arsenal, INC's AK reproductions? I am particularly interested in the SA-RPK 7. Cost? Can it take standard magazines? Accuracy? Is it cheaper to get a real semi-auto RPK, if there is such a thing?

Also, for their 5.56 models, are there any normal(meaning high)-caps out there for them? What about their price, especially the RPK-5?

Thanks in advance.

The Arsenal is one of the best AK clones there is available. It's up there with the VEPR for quality. On the 5.56 Aks, so far as I know, only the East German made Weiger mags work well for high caps. You can get them from AIM Surplus and they cost twice as much as a 7.62x39 magazine. Some people convert the 5.45 mags to 5.56, but these can be problematic and temperamental. The 7.62x39s can take any AK mag the likes of which you're seeing for around $7 to $8 each and last forever. Plus, the advantage of the 7.62 is that 75 round drums can be had.

Yeah, the 75-rd drum in an RPK-clone would be a real good thing if the new-machine-gun ban ('86, I believe?) is ever repealed, and conversion kits are available to us ordinary citizens.

edit: also, is the receiver milled or stamped? Can it take the K-VAR stock AK-47 stock sets?

Also, does anybody have pricing info?

I have owned an Arsenal SA93 for years. Of all the AKs I have owned and fired, this is the finest. The receiver is milled, it is totally reliable, and shoots very accuratly.

The Arsenal, Inc. RPK-7 was a limited production rifle, they are no longer made. I looked at a couple of them in a local shop when they came out, very nice rifles and they were about $850 or so if I remember correctly. Last two I saw for sale on AK-47.net went for $900 used and $1400 NIB.
