I'm think of ordering a 12" LOP stock and was wondering what brand and size of slip-on recoil pad would fit on it? I'm not even looking at softing the percieved recoil so much as adding a tiny bit of extra length.

Why not just get the full length Hogue?

The slip on pads will add 3/4" to 1" depending on the model. My full length Hogue is a touch under 14" and having tried the 12" model it is too short for anyone unless they are wearing body armor or very, very small statured.

I really like the fit of the short stock, though maybe a bit more length would make it ideal for me, and if I can have a bit of extra cushioning as well it's all gravy. I've already got a 14" LOP Speedfeed and it's just too long for defensive use.

Shortening a longer buttstock might be easier..

All I have for a stock is the one that's already on the gun, a synthetic Speedfeed with the built-in ammo storage tubes, it's not suitable for shortening. Since I'll have to pick up another stock anyway it might as well be the short Hogue.

Is it a good fit and is the pad end "sticky?" How much length does it add?
