Sounds like a Military & Police Model (1905 4th Change) made 1915-1942 and that serial is around 1930ish.
This becomes the Model 10 in 1957.

The star means it has been back to the factory for repair or refinishing.

See, VEGETA, the critical question is whether or not the serial number is OVER 9,000!!!!
