Thanks, i have since found out info on it for most I knew anyway, but for your reference if needed.

The scope is a Ukranian Repro PEM scope, the mount does have a serial on it so I am not sure of the origin of that.
The rifle was not an original sniper which I knew,it is a 1929 Tula M91 dragoon rifle, but was changed/converted to a 91/30 by the russians I think in 1930 ?, this is one of those called "ex-dragoon" mosins. The bolt has no serial I am assuming as the original dragoon bolt was straight, thus a bent bolt was installed to accomodate the scope. The floorplate matches the butplate, I am yet to check the stock for which I am told it is "Birch".

I picked this up at bisley arms fair, along with a S/42 k98 RC, there were many PU scoped mosins,in fact I dont see many mosins at the range, but the ones I do are PU'd , I wanted an earlier gun with a scope that was not PU, so here it is.

I "may" be wrong on some info as I am nooby to the surplus rifle world

hi mate, thanks, I will try my best, the scope is 4x with 3 post recticle, it is a ukranian copy of the wartime Ziess scope (obviously not as good as Ziess), these were before the PU scopes. Ebay you can get the setup for $400 - $600, and if you know a bloke who can fit these then you are laughing.

For me, yes, i would love a an all matching all original sniper, but I do not have the dosh. Here I still have a good part of history at a good price :>

The scope is different to the PE scope as the PEM has focus adjust, a true wartime scope for the mosin would have a serial number on it that matched the rfile it was made for, or i have read that some were electropenciled to match other rifles by the russians.

hope this helps, and thanks for looking
