I have a Ruger speed six that has been bounced around my family for a few years. At one point the front sight fell off and i ordered a new one from ruger. The sights are fixed, not adjustable and i had the new front blade installed by a gunsmith.

Anyone have any idea why my sights are so far off?

I don't mean to ask you an insulting question, but are you OK shooting other revolvers? If so, what ammo are you using?

+1

Fixed sight firearms are generally regulated for one type of load, if not one specific load.

Buy a variety of loads with different bullet weights and velocities. The odds are that if your front sight is stock, it will shoot closest to poa using vanilla .357 standard velocity lead bullet loads equivalent to what was common in the '70s.

If you reload, it would be very easy to just work up a load using the right powder and bullet.

The front sight comes high,so that you can regulate it to point of aim by takeing a few licks off with a file, than shooting, then take a few licks more until it shoots point of aim, with your favorite load.Take the file with you to the range.Shooting, then going home to your file and guessing doen't work.

Couple of things come to mind..

Front sight is too tall..re-size it a bit
shoot a cylinder full, file a bit, shoot another cylinder full, file as needed, repeat untill desired POI is reached.

Sight may have been installed a tiny fractional bit off center. Can it be drifted, or is it permenantly attached...i.e. soldered on?
