Whereabouts in MD are you? I'm pretty close to On Target in Severn, and I get up to Hap Baker in Westminster occasionally as well.

Psssh. You guys need to take a trip out to The Cove in Winchester VA. I've been to several ranges in MD, none hold a candle to 'unrestricted' shooting here.

As a matter of fact, the last range I visited in MD wouldn't allow me to shoot more than one shot per two seconds with my CZ75. The RO had a chat with me when I did a couple double taps.

I am in Arnold, not too far from you. Grew up in SP as well... Anyways, I make it out to On-Target from time to time, also go to Select-Fire on occasion (though I try to avoid that place as much as possible). PM me if you want to meet up sometime, I could always use a shooting buddy.

I saw a passing reference to The Cove on the Maryland Shooter's Forum. Now here is another mysterious reference.

Pray tell, What is the Cove? Where around Winchester ( I know Fort Shenendoah)? Is it public? Membership required? What facilities?
Can I rapid-fire a pistol at 3 yards? Can I do all those things they frown at at Marriottsville?

Chris if you ever find yourself on Maryland's eastern shore you should try Delmarva Sporting Clays. The title is deceiving; they have pistol and rifle ranges (out to 300 yards) and they couldn't care less what or how you shoot as long as you're safe. Full auto? fine. Drawing from the holster? Whatever, have fun. Steel targets? Bang away!

I used to live in the Peoples Republic of Maryland until I retired. Now I live in PA and have about five good ranges withing about 20 miles. IMHO this is the best in the area and in addition plinking to shooting sports http://www.yorkiwla.org/

I am posting it because it is about five minutes off 83 giving easy assess to some of your Marylanders.

About how far away would it be? I'm in Western Md, around the Cumberland area. I'd like to buy some ammo in Pa.
