Holy smokes Saiga 12 prices?

I looked on gunsamerica for saiga 12s to get an idea of pricing, and I was shocked to see them all at 500+ and osme at 800$$ :what::what::what:

A year ago a friend of mine bought himself one (And he has yet to shoot it, I keep trying to get him to stop by so I can test it out). He paid something like 360$ new. Is that really what they are going for? I will have to scratch my plans of buying one, and just try to buy my friends because that is ridiculous.

Yup--$500 now is a great price. They can't keep them in stock and supply is always short. Also, people are snatching them up fearing another AWB if Nobama gets elected.

Yep --- they went up in price along woth gas etc. I should have bought a couple when the price was under $400 ---- I've been looking for a Saiga .308 and the price on them is also up $200 or so from last year !!

Mainly demand more than any change in costs.

Saiga 12s are sheet metal firearms that are cheap to produce. Thier old price tag reflected that.
Now they have gained a strong demand.
With a strong demand they can charge more and the market still buys them.

I know what you mean. I was looking at a Saiga 223 about 6 months ago for $279. I went by there today to get one and the price was $359. :what:

Only had one left at that. So I got it before the price went even higher. :D

Ouch. I grabbed mine for 210 at a gun show. Always worked flawlessly for me until trying to use that awful winchester bulk birdshot.

Of course I call my friend up and offer him what he paid for his (Its still new and unfired) and he tells me to eat it :D. Apparently he knows how much they have gone up...

I just bought one last weekend. I saw them a little over $400 then it was $500 then it was $600 and they were still impossible to find. So I found the long bbl one that I had been wanting for the past 6 months and bit the big one.

Haven't shot it yet but I cross another one off the list :) after all it's only money lol
