Scratch on AR barrel

Hi all, I'm new to this site but I've been lurking the archives for years. Thanks in advance for any help. I have a Colt MTC 6700 that somehow got a 2 inch scratch down to bare metal on the barrel. What is a good way to patch or repair this? I guess you would call this a Parkerized finish? Thanks again.

About all you can do is touch it up with cold blue.
Birchwood-Casey makes a Touch-up Blue pin that works very well, and can often be found at Wally-World.

Before you go touching it up, are you sure it isn't a skuff?
I had a bunch of stuff I thought was scratches on my AR form 3gun. Most of them came off with some gun scrubber.

If it is Parkerized you could always pull the barrel, plug it and reparkerize it. It should not change the overall color of the barrel and should only fill in the scratch.

Leave it be. It is called character. Treat you weapon as a weapon, not a car fender. You will feel better about your next scratch.:D
