Rem 870 safety button question

Does anyone know if there is a replacement part or modification which allows the safety of a right handed 870 to be operated by a left hander? IE a button that works in reverse so that pushing it to the right would disengage the safety.

Yep. There's a left-hand safety. Installation is fairly easy:
