Armed Teachers in Utah?

CBS The Early Show does a story.

I heard this being discussed on the syndicated radio show, "Tom Gresham's Gun Talk." Tom interviewed the teacher who was featured on the segment. Both said it was as balanced as could be expected.

When the reporter asked her if she would be carrying in her school the teacher replied, "That's why they call it concealed."

Of course, me being an open-carry advocate... oh, never mind. No need to piddle on her parade.

I believe children's lives are as worthy of protection as adults'. Guess I don't have much future as a leftist extremist, do I?

Supporters of this law say it's a deterrent because a kid might not want to bring a gun to school if he thinks the teachers are packing.

But Dickey notes, “There would be kids who want to get in a shootout. There are police-assisted suicides, why not teacher-assisted suicides?”

If the teacher "assists" the kid 25 minutes before the cops show up (and before he kills dozens of other kids), then so be it.

The irony is that Utah schools are probably the least likely to need armed teachers.
