I'm trying to fill a gap in my rifle collection. I have several SKS/AKs in 7.62x39, a Saiga in .308 and numerous bolt actions in 7.62x54, 8mm and .303 but no .223. A few months ago I was looking for a siaga .223 but ended up with the .308.

Currently I'm kind on intrigued with the Remi 7615 police. Like many...I really dont NEED another rifle...but... Any thought's on on the 7615 would be appreciated!

Here are some links to articles on the 7615 I came across while researching it.

I have another couple of reviews that I cut and pasted and saved in my "guns to possibly buy in the future" folder - The links are dead now, but I could email them to you if you think they would help.

Wyn I have had a 7615 since they first came out. Its a neat little rifle that shoots very well. It points just like a shotgun since this basically what it is. When you raise the gun it seems to be pointed at what you are looking at without using the sights. My nylon 66 was the same way.

There are several threads here on the 7615. A poster named Krocus has posted some of his targets also.

I like the fact that it doesn't throw your brass all over the place like a mini-14 or an AR. I reload so thats a big selling point to me. It has gone down in price since I bought mine. That may change if there is another weapons ban.

The only problem I have had with mine is that some of the imported ammo doesn't always work. The rims very in dimension on some of the imported stuff. The russian rims ar a little oversize and will sometimes hang in the bolt face and the S&B is undersized and won't always eject.

American ammo works just fine. Thays okay because it far and away the most accurate. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info on the ammo. I LOVE S&B ammo...high quality ammo at reasonable prices.

Is the 7615 .223 or 5.56?

The police model is both with a 1/9" twist
