I'm going to buy a lower on friday, and am looking for ideas. I bounce back and forth between what i think i want, but i just cant put my finger on anything specific. Posting some pics of people in the same new york style ban as me would be great help.
This is a stock YHM photo in which i just shortened the barrel as i am interested in a 16" rifle, and i really like the look, but im not sure. Im looking at YHM mostly because the upper needs to be <700 if i want to get it anytime soon. So no DD 350 dollar rails for me. Thanks, Brian

The "dissipator" setup like you have pictured generally has cycling problems from what I hear; the length of barrel after the gas port isn't sufficiently long enough to allow enough backpressure to work, or somesuch. Rifle length gas systems seem to work fine on a 17" barrel, but not a 16"--for a 16", I love my RRA Mid-length gas system :)

Dissipators function the same as any other 16" carbine setup. Gas ports are in teh same place.
