Big 5 has K-31's with slings for $140. Condition is pretty good, with nice shiny bores and deep rifling. The finish is great, but the wood is pretty dinged up in typical K-31 fashion. I know i can get one from SOG for $100, but if you add in a FFL transfer fee and shipping it is about the same. Good deal? (BTW, how much is a transfer fee on average?)

it MO a transfer averaged 25 bucks
k 31s will run 100 to 120 bucks, plus a minimum of ten shipping (yeah right) and 25 for transfer so i would say go for it

Time to get a C&R license so that you can order rifles like the K-31 and have them delivered to your door! I have ordered 7 rifles in the 2 years I've had my C&R. It was well worth the $30.00.

Just gor my SOG K31 today; I paid the $10.00 for "hand-picked". I'm very happy with the rifle - all matching #'s, much better than average K-31 stock, bluing at about 85-90%. I think I'm going to order another one!

Don't forget to look for the tag under the buttplate. Can find out some interesting history of your rifle that way.

FGI sells them for $125 with the sling, plus shipping, plus transfer fee.
Century has them at 5 for $425, but again, you'll pay shipping and transfer, and I don't think they have slings.
All this, for sight-unseen guns. Sounds like $140 is a good deal for a local purchase.
Good luck and keep us posted with a range report, please.

- - About six or eight months ago, a friend with C&R license ordered one for me when he got his second from SOG. I believe I wrote him a check for $130 for rifle and 60 rounds of military match ammo. Shipping for the pair was less than it would have been for two separate.
Best,
Johnny
