Do I need to get a new FID?

I recently moved, but my license still matches the address on my FID card.
Can I still purchase a firearm so do I need to get a new FID anyway? If I need a new FID, do I have to go through the process as if I never had one? :scrutiny:

Wouldn't you be commiting a felony by putting down false information on a 4473 (that being your old address, since you don't really live there any more)?
As for getting a new FID, you can just fill out a change of address form:
http://njsp.org/info/pdf/firearms/sts-003.pdf
that, IN THEORY, should be processed quicker than the initial application (you don't have to provide references on the change of address form, for instance).

On this form I particularly love item 27
27) Are you presently, or have you ever been a member of any organization which advocates or approves the commission of acts of violence, either to overthrow the government of the United States or of this State, or to deny others of their rights under the Constitution of either the United States or the State of New Jersey?
If yes, list name and address of organization(s) here:
Oh and from the NJ DMV
Address Changes Within the State
When you relocate, you should report your address change within one week to the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC). The MVC lets you change your address online, provided you have moved within the state.
Once you have submitted the online form, you will receive confirmation of your address change from the MVC in the mail within three weeks. This will be accompanied by new-address stickers to adhere to the back of your license, ID card, and vehicle registration. You will not be issued new documents.
If you are unable to report your change of address online, contact your local MVC Agency.

Of course I reported the new address to the DMV. I put the new address sticker on the back of my license. Can I also use 1 of the stickers on my FID card? Hmm...

Tom488, thanks for the link. I guess I still have to pay some type of fee again for a simple address change? Wow...
