I'm hoping to get some information on how much my gun might be worth before I put it on the market. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Here are some pictures of it.

Outstanding condition - - It's clearly never been carried. I bought its younger brother a couple of years back. Mine has the rounded butt frame and checked wood stocks, and a four-inch barrel like yours. I believe I gave $300 for it, but they seem to go for a bit more nowadays. Yours could bring $400 to the right buyer, especially if you have the factory box or a vintage holster for it.

Be advised, though - - If you DO intend to sell it, resist the temptation to carry or even shoot it. The finish on the Colt alloy frames is very delicate. The four-inch Cobra, especially with the square butt, is sort of a specialty niche revolver. It's a bit too long to serve as a pocket piece. It really needs a belt or shoulder holster. With the square butt, it'll tend to "print" a bit more than the round butt version.

I understand that Cobras with four-inch and yes, even FIVE-inch barrels used to be popular "badge of office" pieces. Many went to office personnel in back country oil and fruit companies in Central and South America. They were large enough to look like "a real gun" but were not much burden in a little high ride belt holster.

Blue Book says a 98% gun is worth $700, a 95% drops back to $425.
