Does anyone have any of the S&W tactical knives? I found the Auto's and liner locks for $25-50 bucks each and thought they would add nicely to my Smith Gen 3 collection.

Low quality overall. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

Can you explain why you think they are low quality, such as the blade are made with low quality steel etc. Also can you suggest a tactical auto of better quality in that price range?

I'd spend the money of a Spyderco at WalMart or the net.
S&W Knives is a Taylor Cutlery brand. They've made improvements, but the steel is still lower quality, the construction is "barely adequate" due to design and spotty quality control.
A Spyderco Endura or Native (http://www.ableammo.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=10460_10461&sort=3a&filter_id=81) will be better made of superior steel.

Thanks for the info. I have owned many spyderco knives. I was really just looking to add a little to my Smith handgun collection. Didn't really plan on swapping out the benchmades I carry for it.

S&W has nothing to do with the current S&W knives.
If you're looking for something to add to the S&W handgun collection start looking for the old S&W knives that were produced in Japan for them. 80's or 70's. They were well made heavy steel folders and would be something anyone would be happy to have in the collection.
