What relatively common brand/model of autoloader has the most expensive pre-ban magazines, in your observations of street prices?

P7M13 ......................around $120/ea and worth it!

Once that ban expires next year they will all be expensive enough to call most expensive! :p

A listed price for a 17 round FML glock mag was $145 at a local shop here, was there for about 4 months until it was picked up by someone... I would have gladly sold my G22 mags for that price!

I saw a 15 round Browning BDM magazine go for $150 on gunbroker a couple weeks ago. I have six of them :D

I wonder how much I could get for my 30 round Berreta 92 or my 30 round S&W 59/659/5906 magazines.:)

Glock Pre-ban Fml seem pretty pricey.:neener:

I've seen new Walther P88 mags go for $125-$135 a pop.

I have three that came with my P88 and don't need any more at those prices. :(

There are people at local gunshows in my area who ask $120-$140 for Glock FML pre-ban magazines and yet manage to keep a straight face.

I once paid $85 ea. for some G20 NFML. Never again. Having 15 rds v. 10 is not worth $65 to me.

I've purchased some G17 magazines lately at decent ($50-$65) prices as a hedge against the possibility that the ban will be renewed, but that's the last of my pre-ban purchases. I'm confident the ban will expire, at which point I will gobble up about ten magazines for each Glock that I own...

I have seen mags in the $100-$120 range quite routinely, but I once saw a 30 round mag for a 10/22 for $150 :banghead: That was a bit over the edge, IMO :what:

I know this is a bit OT, but factory orig Ruger Mini-14 30 and 40 rounders have been spotted for $150 or so. Again OT, but Bren 10 mags--only 10rds BTW go for $150 and up when I see them!

I would think it would be Bren Ten mags, aren't they like $300 a pop, if you can even find one? Of course, that's not because they're pre-ban, just rare in the first place...

Agree with Bren Ten mags. Manufactured from unobtanium.

I haven't seen any pistol mag prices that made my jaw drop, but I see those AR-15 beta-c mags go for $500+ every so often on Gunbroker. I just can't fathom spending that much on a mag.

Myself, the most valuable I own is an SKS drum that I've never used.

Once the ban expires, I look for Glock mags to run $30 - $40 a pop, rather than the $15 - $20 they used to be. No way is Gaston gonna let an opportunity to make extra $$$ go to waste. He knows we've been spending $100+ for his used mags, so why wouldn't we all gladly spend less than half that for new ones?

I sure hope it does go bye-bye... I want some USP45 mags, and maybe just one Beta C mag.

I'd have to agree that the Beta C 100rnd mags for the AR-15 are pretty outrageous.

The Bren Ten. The infamous Miami Vice gun. See if you can find any mags. I thought about buying one of those that was available here in California with spare parts, but I passed when I realized that it had no mags.

Hicap mags for the CZ 75B can be purchased at $48.00 per copy (as long as they last). Information can be found on the CZ website. Expensive to a degree but not the $120.00+ prices mentioned here. Good shooting:)

Thompson "C" drums, around $1995ea. Now thats a little pricey. :) The 50 rounders are around $750. And I was bitching about MP5 mags at $125.

I have a Browning Challenger .22LR semi automatic pistol (The first model Challenger). The magazines are 125.00 when you can find one.........All of them are "pre-ban" as the pistol stopped and the Challenger II began production before the "Ban".

I have a Walther P88, 9MM para, semi-auto. The magzaine occasionally turn up for $90 - $100 (they are "Hi-cap" pre-ban mags)

The moral of this story is to always keep 2 or three magazines for any firearm you own!

CZ-USA doesn't advertise the pre-ban mags. You have to call and order. Mine were $35, but that was a few years ago.

SIG P226 9mm factory 20-rnd magazines aren't exactly cheap these days either.

I have seen FS:

Glock 20 NFML $125

Glock 20 FML $150

Steyr GB $185

Beta C-mag $500

Have never seen a Thompson 'C' listed...but $2000 doesn't surprise me.

15-rd "preban" mags for the 10mm Glock 20.

Saw one at the last regional gunshow. It was the only 10mm mag on the table among about a hundred other mags. Allegedly it was "new in the wrapper," according to the guy behind the table, except he couldn't find any Glock wrapper for it. A closer look disclosed slight wear around the lips and some residual powder (or dirt) on the sides of the follower.

He wanted $130 for it. So I had to ask.

"That's a little steep, isn't it?"

"Nope," he said without missing a beat. "You can't get these anymore. They stopped making 'em ."

"The hi-cap mags?"

"No, the 10mm caliber."

Next time I'll just keep walking.

WOW !!!!

I have been losing sleep over paying $75 - $130 on mags for my 9mm AR15. I hadn't really thought about just how expensive some of this stuff is. I would really have to be in love with a handgun to pay some of these prices. I have to own at least a half dozen mags for any gun that I own. If I had to pay some of these prices that would certainly influence whether or not I bought the gun.

I called the phone number found on the CZ-USA website and ordered via phone as well. Ordered and received mine just before Christmas. The gentleman that I talked to said that supply was low then. FWIW. Good shooting:)

12-round magazines for the SIG 229 are pretty brutal - I've seen them go for $125 at gun shows.

I think SIG was making the 229 for maybe 15 minutes before the law took effect, so there just aren't that many pre-bans out there.

A lot of mags for pistols have someone asking prices we would never pay, if you look you can find Glock, Sig etc. for less then the guys at shows wanting 100 bucks for a High Power. But the mags I have looked for that always cost $100 or more are the H&K P7M13 mags. Makes me sick when I look at the LEO mag prices.

Then there's Desert Eagle magazines.

And Coonan magazines.

Detonics and Colt Pocket 9 magazines, anybody?

I'm amazed at the number of people that think the mag-ban will sunset. It will be enacted permanently. Bush WILL sign the new one. Congress will NOT say, "Let's loosen up the restriction".

When have you ever seen government give us MORE freedom?

That ban will never be lifted.

I got a Taylor- made 28 rounder for the 1911. Looks like a Luger snail-drum on steroids. Last show I was some guy had one for $350 along with a 50 round drum for a Ruger 10/22. Ouch. Wish I had bought both of of the Taylors for the $75 the guy wanted back when.

With an attitude like that, defeat is assured.

Fortunately, many are unwilling to cower in the face of Schumer, HRC, Rosie, etc.

This is a battle, it takes effort, and those who are willing to fight for what is right.

Please consider becoming part of the solution.

The infamous HK USP 12 rnd "pre ban" mags....that according to HK don't exist, run $100+ in an on-line auction. A factory USP45 mag goes for about $50 new (10 rnds). So for an extra $50+ you get: TWO MORE ROUNDS...... That is about a pricey as you'll get for a current production handgun, on a per round basis...yikes

Usually any of the HK mags for the P7M13, the long guns like the 91 & 93 or the pre bans for the USPs. Not rare to see prices over $100 :what:
