MAKster November 2, 2008, 10:52 AM The price of 38 spl has gotten really high because it's no longer made in large volume like 9mm. I see it for around $13 per box. If you're lucky you might find some American Eagle or Independence ammo for $11 at a gun show. ChristopherG November 2, 2008, 11:18 AM It was .38 that got me into reloading, about 5 years ago now; for I found that the answer to your question is, "no such thing." It is, however, an easy and inexpensive caliber to reload, and you can easily make ammo that's better than any budget stuff you can buy. Sorry if that's not the answer you want, but something to think about down the road. Seafarer12 November 2, 2008, 11:48 AM Reload. I haven't bought 38's in years it is just too high. I haven't bought 38's since I use to buy speer lawman for 10 dollars a box. Now I reload for 5 to 7 a box depending on how much I get bullets for. I haven't quite gotten into casting pistol bullets yet. wnycollector November 2, 2008, 12:02 PM http://www.precisioncartridge.com/Remanufactured-Ammunition-Commercial-Wholesale-Price-List-Page-1.pdf $154/1000 plus for 148gr WC's wep45 November 2, 2008, 02:16 PM check out MasterCast and Ammo Man http://www.mastercast.net/ http://www.ammoman.com/ armoredman November 2, 2008, 03:26 PM Reloading AND casting for 38Spl, shoot for a very long time for pennies. NoirFan November 3, 2008, 12:34 PM If you don't reload, buy Winchester bulk ammo at Wal Mart and save your cases until you have a good amount on hand. Then place an order with www.mastercast.net. If you send them your brass they will sell you their ammo at a discount. I recently bought 600 rounds of .38 special wadcutters for about $8.50 a box including shipping both ways. Good service and fast shipping. Wnycollector, those Precision Cartridge prices are interesting. How do they shoot? wnycollector November 3, 2008, 04:50 PM The shoot fine, but a bit smokey;) +1 for mastercast. once you get the spent brass from the Precision WC's send them for mastercast for reloading! evan price November 4, 2008, 03:01 AM 158 lead SWC, $73/thousand from my Lee Pro1000.
