I have a Glock 21 sf with the standard Glock rail. I have fired no more than 150 rounds though it. there now seems to me to be more play between the slide and the frame than when i first got it. How much play should there be in this gun?

The slide doesnt move around a lot, just enough to hear it if you move the pistol in your hand.

By the way, this is my first glock so any other information would be nice. I really love the gun, as i shoot well with it and it fits my hand.

If you hear something when you shake it in your hand, there may be an issue. That is one way folks will examine an semi-auto pistol. If it shakes, take it to a authorized GLOCK armor, let him/her check it out prior to firing it again.

P.S. I own a GLOCK 21, never had a minutes problem w/ it. It has been one solid pistol.

Please elaborate on this:

What do you mean by "play"?

By play i mean both side to side motion and vertical motion of the slide seated on the rails. i know some autos should have this, such as a little side to side motion on a GI style 1911. But there seems to be more on my Glock since i first fired it.
i was just wondering how much should there be on a typical glock.

Haven't owned a G21 but have been around and have owned Glocks for years including helping maintain about a 150 or so for the agency I worked for. Something is wrong! Have you field stripped it yet? Although I haven't seen it first hand, it might be possible that one of the four rails that the slide rides on may be damaged. HTH

i mean both side to side motion and vertical motion of the slide seated on the rails.

If I understand this right, your Glock slide moves left to right and vice versa? That shouldn't happen. Plus when you lift up the slide, it goes up (vertical)?

The slide should be seated firmly and shouldn't have any "play", space or looseness.

Take it back to the shop or Glock.
