I bought a K31 tonight at Dunham's Sporting Goods. Metal was great. Wood was Excellent. As far as matching numbers and value of the gun... Both the stock, top hand guard, bolt, and the area behind the rear sight have matching numbers. Only the mag does not. Is it standard for all parts minus the mag to match?

BTW: Paid $139 and change out the door.

I bought one about 1 1/2 years ago from Aim and it was all matching including the magazine.

I wouldn't let a mis-matched magazine get me down, after you shoot it and see how nice it is you will forget about some silly numbers. By the way, if you want to see mis-matched number, you should see my Russian-Captured K98!

Never saw a K-31 that wasn't all matching. The mag wasn't intended for quick reloads as far as I know, the weapon was usually reloaded by strippers through the top. Mag may have been a replacement during a rearsenalling.

I have several K-31's. Most were all matching, tho I did find one that was force-matched bolt and non-matching mag.

Maybe a customer mis-matched the magazines in a few rifles after handling them. It's a long shot, but may be worth it since mis-matched K-31s are so unusual.
