I was planning on gettin a DPMS Panther Lite 16 .223 and wanted to know if a .243 or .270 upper would work on the lower.
THIS THREAD IS NOT MEANT TO START A FLAME WAR ABOUT DIFFERENT BRANDS OF AR'S, SO KEEP IT ON TOPIC WITH THE QUESTION ASKED.
THANKS

these are AR10 uppers i believe, so no they will NOT fit an ar15 lower of any make

With the AR-15 lower you are restricted to rounds that will fit through the 5.56mm dimensioned magwell, so .243 is right out. I'm not sure if there are any AR-10s that will take a .270, but it definitely won't work in a AR-15.

Other than COBB's MCR (not out yet), NO ar platform can handle the .270, it is a long action cartridge. The .243 is AR-10, only 2.226 OAL cartridges will fit in the AR-15, unless you don't want to use a magazine. (as in .50BMG AR)
