I'm pretty sure those are both handguns, so I'm going to slide this over to the semi-auto forum where it will get better responses.

I've got a Republic Arms Patriot, and I like it a lot. Surprisingly accurate for such a short barrel. The trigger is a bit of a bear at first (I think I read that it breaks at 12lbs., feels like less...), but you get used to it. Recoil is a bit stout compared to a full sized .45 ACP, but not at all unreasonable. With approximately eight to nine hundred rounds of PMC 230 ball through it I had one stovepipe jam, and this was largely due to my not cleaning it for about three hundred rounds or so. At $239.00, I think it was a good value. I may end up buying another if Trader's puts them on sale again... Not the prettiest handgun, but likeable none the less.
As for the legacy, I have no experience with that.

Could you be a little more specific as to the question you are asking? Several companies manufacture a "Patriot" and there are several variants of these "Patriots".
Who is the weapon manufacturer?
What is the Model name (I would guess is Patriot or Legacy)?
What is the Model Variant (ex: is it the Dan Wesson Patriot - - Marksman or Expert, is it the stainless or blued)?

PS. Stephen A. Camp wrote several outstanding reports on the DW Patriot while TFL was running, you could search there if this is what you are interested in.

in carbon blued steel and let me share with you that this is the best, production 1911 I have ever shot.
Beautiful fit and construction, extremely accurate with match barrel and proof target from factory, breaking in flawlessly, no FTE's or pips whatsoever, top notch parts, great customer service from factory, low serial number.
This pistol is 1/2 the price of a Valtro and 1/3 or more, less than the price of a Wilson or Les Baer. Not that I'm comparing them exactly to these great semi custom and custom pistols.
Series 70, no firing pin safety, great trigger, smooth, the slide to frame is absolutely TIGHT!
This is the first US production 1911 that I am really impressed with for the price.

I saw this posted first in non-firearm weapons and I wondered... Legacy? ... as in Mathews Solocam compound bow?
some clarification is in order
