Who's to say...

I get just a little tickled at the response (to the election) of so many people going out and buying EBRs, AKs, etc. Who's to say that when/if a new AWB is signed into law, there will be a grandfather clause? That is one of the main things that the libs want to change. Others being the sunset on the bill, and the addition of many other rifles. As far as enforcement goes, they wouldn't have to come around and confiscate; they'd just wait for you/us to come to them. Many would be turned in by the owners that don't want to be in possession of an illegal firearm. Others would be found after they put an extreme tax on guns/ammo and also raised FFL costs and insurance premiums. The stores that didn't fold under at the cost of the FFL and insurance, would eventually fold under with the drop in business because of the tax increase. When each store folds, each and every "yellow sheet" and binder goes to the ATF. A quick cross reference on the computer could tell which firearms had been turned in and which were not.

Impossible? No. Likely? Time will tell. But in these slow times I'm not willing to bet thousands of dollars to find out. I'm sitting pretty well on guns and ammo. I replace what ammo I burn with about 200% of what I used. Ammo and mags are untraceable, but the guns may be a loss waiting to happen. A government that wants your guns, will get them eventually. And if they get yours later, there'd be a nice long vacation at club fed waiting for you.

Join the NRA, GOA or another RKBA group. Better yet, that money you were going to spend on that new AR, use it to join all these groups. That would make for the largest payoff to you, in the end.

Better, do both. If these "evil" guns are commenly bought items, it will be MUCH harder to ban them, without public dissaproval.

Join a few RKBA groups, and buy as many guns, and as much ammo as you can afford.
