Hello my fellow gun lovers. :neener: I will be getting my CPL in a couple of weeks, and I was wondering what websites are good for purchasing concealed carry holsters. I already have a DeSantis shoulder holster for my 1911, but I've heard CrossBreed get brought up before. Feel free to help a gun brethren out

Get the holster you want Do NOT, DO not, DO NOT buy a cheap nylon holster, buy a good holster.

If you want a specific brand I'm partial to Galco summer comfort

I've got a galco summer comfort and its probably me wearing a crappy belt but whenever ive worn mine it seems to shift around too much and doesn't stay in the same position. It makes it awkward feeling to grab the grips because it's not in the same spot as when it was holstered many times. Anyone else had this holster do that?

Your hoslter question:

We need more information to give you answers that work for your life. Otherwise you're going to get a lot of answers that work for ours. Our lives may or may not be similar enough.

What gun? That 1911?
How often, and many hours out of the day will you carry it?
How do you dress? Are you willing to change the way you dress if we suggest it?
How much are you willing to spend? Are you willing to spend more?
What material are you predisposed to?
What style holster are you interested in?

That should be a good start.

I have a 1911 and an XD40. Suggestions for both would be just fine.
I am a student, so I probably wouldn't conceal most of Mon-Fri because of the silly law.
I dress fairly casual.
Sure, I would dress around my guns.
No, I am not willing to spend a firearm's worth on a holster for a firearm.
Preferrably IWB/shoulder holsters.

I am looking at a pile of nylon holsters I bought for CC. 3 clip ons, 1 shoulder holster that might actually work if I ever have to wear a suit, but which I will probably never wear. And 2 Kydex models . They are. a Gunmate™ clip on 18.00$ Ambi holster™ shoulder holster 25.00$ Uncle Mike's™ 15.00$ & a Fobus™ OWB that I paid 25.00$ for plus an AMS™ (12.00$) that isn't a TOTAL waste because I use it to store my RIA in the safe. And finally another Uncle Mike's™ kydex IWB that cost 25.00$ .Total price 120.00$ . All for the same gun each one was gonna be the last & I spent all that money trying to avoid spending 67.89 $ for a leather IWB (Galco) with belt ties that actually stays where I put it. ( just like all of you told me it would)

Bottom line if you're a new CCW guy and you want to save a buck or two Go buy the 60.00$ leather holster to begin with. you'll be glad you did

Absolutely... DO NOT buy a cheap holster, it would be a waste of money. I really like GALCO, BIANCHI, EL PASO and SAFARILAND - all very good quality leather holsters.
