I have a friend who has been deer hunting for a while now and has decided she's ready for her own rifle. She wants a .243 but here's the kicker she wants it to have a PINK stock...she likes hunting but says she's still a lady so she's gotta have a pink rifle. If there are any pink stocked 243's I haven't been able to find one, so i'm looking for recommendations for a finish to be applied to a stock to change its color. Thanks.

She could always get a gun with a synthetic frame and have it DuraCoated in pink. Thats the only way I could think

Strip down the wood stock and use wood dye? Pink wood dye is available (google it), but I wouldn't want to take on the project of stripping and refinishing a new rifle... look for a slightly used rifle instead.

Oooh, if you're making it pink, you might as well go all the way with something like a pink MARPAT pattern, with shades of magenta, fuscia, mauve, and...dammit, I'm out of pink shade names, but you get the idea.

Then get her a matching hat (http://www.knpheadwear.com/images/products/250x250/CF8147_pnk.jpg).

You can paint a rifle any color you wish. Sand the finish off of the rifle, prime it, then paint!

That's what I was going to say. Find a rifle that's had a stock that's seen its better days (heaven's sake don't pink out a new rifle). Sand it down real good, prime it, and paint it any shade of pink you want. If it's too much of a matte finish, get some polyurethane and put a few coats of that on there. It will gloss up pretty quick.

Hmmm, Remington offers both their 20 gauge 870 Express, and their 597 with plastic pink camo furniture, but I don't believe anyone makes a centerfire rifle in pink.

Mossberg and Crickett also offer .22s with pink stocks. Crosman has a 760 air rifle with pink stock, too, but you'd have to be a heck of a deer hunter with that one, to bring home venison.

This is the best idea. Find a wood-stocked beat up Rem, Win, Savage, etc. in the caliber of choice and get to sanding/painting. If you want to do it on the cheap, then use this rifle as your base:

Krylon with a seal coat of polyurathane works well. Here are two I did for my kids

I like those tbtrout!

The purple/pink one looks great. Even though that shade isn't doesn't suit me well, I still like it.

buy the gun you want, have it sent to armoryairbrush.com, wait, get rifle, and enjoy.

repeat for other guns if desired
