Weak springs

I have an 1860 steel framed Pietta .44 cal revolver. I use rimington caps and Goex FFF black powder 22 to 25 grains. its seems to have a weak main spring. I was wondering if someone makes a stronger main spring? I have found many suppliers for replacements, yet none list a heavy duty or a stronger than normal spring. Do I have to just buy several and use the strongest of the lot, or is there a supplier that sells what I'm looking for?

I have an older Pietta .36 Navy that has a weak mainspring. I put a piece of metal in front of the base of the spring (some shooters use a piece of leather). This forces the spring to bend more, which makes it spring back harder. It worked for me.

I`ve got a Pietta 51 Navy with a weak spring ..yet it will still pop a Remington cap ...just won`t pop CCi`s ....I`d suggest buying another spring ...sounds like yours is sprung ...I bought a new 58 from Cabelas that came with a sprung main spring ...it does happen ..poor quality control ....I didn`t want to send the pistol back because the outside fit and finish looked so nice ...so I installed a new spring for a few bucks .

Thanks like the leather. I figured that if I bought another spring I would end up with the same problem.
