Is it very minimal? I've noticed some accessories are advertised that they fit both Picatinney and Weaver rails. Anyone have the exact dimensions?

any other differences besides width? Different interval length between locking channels (for lack of a better phrase)? Sorry such a noob question.

Here are they exact dimensions for a 1913 (Picatinny) rail. The locking channels are wider than a Weaver rail. Weaver accesories will fit on a 1913 rail, but 1913 accessories will not fit a Weaver rail.

Ahhh, now this:

is a very useful tidbit of knowledge. Bottom line, it would seem, is that opting for a P-rail on the gun in question is more versatile (if you have a choide), if that statment holds true, since then either type of accessory will fit. Same cannot be said of Weaver. In the words of the warden/preacher from Raising Arizona, "OK, then."

Notice I said fit....this is true....a Weaver ring will clamp onto a 1913 rail however be aware that the lug on the bottom of the ring will be significantly narrower than the slot in the base. This of course is due to the wider cross slots on the 1913 system. Otherwise....they appear the same dimensionaly. As I do not have exact measurements for the Weaver system....I can't say for sure. You are correct though....the 1913 format is a bit more versatile due to it being able to accept accessories for either format.

Dependent on the manufacturer. I've seen it as low as 9 mm (3/8 in = ~9.5 mm) to as high as 14 mm.
