Hello all,

Im modifying my rem 870 express magazine by adding a "A.T.I. Advanced Technology 12GA Remington Magazine Extension" the tube i purchased is for a 8 rd extension on a 20 inch barrel. after reading the instructions i noticed that i will have to make a permanent modification to the weapons original magazine tube. there are two small indentations that have to be dremeled or filed off in order for the black and orange retention cap to follow through to the "new extension".

now i realize by doing this i will be able to have a larger magazine capacity however,... will i be able to switch back to the original magazine capacity for say i go hunting or just because, and will the weapons original magazine function properly?

Yes, you'll be fine. If you don't grind out the two indentations your gun won't feed with the extended tube on there. AMHIK.

If you retrofit it with the original parts, it will still work perfectly.
