Wednesday I just bought my first AR15, actually a Bushmaster XM15 E2S M4. New out of the box. I want to break this in properly and was wondering what I should do?
Thanks in advance,
Tom

Clean and lubricate it well before you go to the range. Then shoot it until you are ready to go home.

What H1500308 said.
Also, don't worry about barrel break-in; no such thing with chrome lined barrels. Just shoot it, shoot it, and shoot it some more.

Clean it very good.
Then I'd clean it after every 100 rounds or so for a while until you have a good feeling that things are functioning normal.

The only thing I'd add is don't be afraid of the lube. Lube generously and often, kinda like voting in Chicago.

Clean and shoot it. Unless you bought some spiffy match barrel. In that case, read about break-in on the Internet, make your own decision and then shoot it.

Shoot, clean, repeat.
