My Deer

Well here in Washington we only get 1 deer a year, and some years you're lucky if you can even do that! To give you a little premis, I had gotten deer the first 5 consecutive years that I hunted, and was begining to think that this hunting thing wasn't all that difficult. Then due to Health, Finances, Job Changes, I went on a 7 year drought where in I only hunted 3 of those 7 years and no meat . So FINALLY last month on opening day I ended my dry spell! Now I know it's not the biggest Muley in the world, but it is the Biggest 3pt muley I have ever seen (I am sure that there have been bigger, I have just never seen a 3pt bigger than this one). Let's just say he was a year or 2 from becoming a real monster.

And a right fine WA Mulie it is! Two young future hunters, also. Congrats!

Thanks, and yes 2 future hunters (hopefully). The oldest would go now if I would let him, but the youngest isn't quite sure yet for some reason he is convinced that you can die if you go hunting lol no matter what I tell him or how many times I go out and come back safe. But he is only 6 so hopefully he will grow out of that lol.

"...for some reason he is convinced that you can die if you go hunting"

Sounds like he may have an anti-hunting teacher or some children of anti-hunters whispering in his ear.

Naw, I don't think that's it, he is just a VERY independent and "Notional" kid. He hasn't brought it up in a while, it was probably something he heard or saw on TV. It won't last. But at least he loves eating the meat :D

In time, we all find our trail . . . nurture him like the good Father you are.

Then let him . . . they grow & are on their own entirely too quickly.

I think he's still a bit young yet. A couple more years and we're good to go (providing they don't change the age requirements here do to that kid a few months ago)
