I saw on another thread where someone recommends a Star BM 9mm.
They said that the Star was as reliable and everything as a Makarov is only more powerful. My question is, How much do these guns run in price? Ive seen on "gunbroker.com" they range from$199 and up. Is this whole sale or retail? If this gun is really comparable to the "Mak" Then Im very much interested.:)

Hello. I would estimate prices at $150 to $200 or so depending upon condition.
Some comments on some Star pistols as well as the BM are at the link below if interested.

Damn, I am sooo tempted. Less than $200 later, I could have one of these neat looking pistolas.
I don't need these temptations...

Aim has them for $129. If you need parts, just buy two guns.:D

That price is for FFL holders. Everyone that I talk to says they will run about $200-$300.:(

I found a dealer said that he could get me one for$170. Is this to much?

NO! That is not too much for a quality gun such as the Star BM. Grab it at that price while you can! The cheapest I have seen one in the "real" world is $199 at a gunshow but it only came with one mag and was only in so-so condition. I was going to buy it but I found a S&W M-19 down the isle that took up all my gun-cash for the day.
I think $200 or less OTD is a deal. I wouldn't pay too much more than $200 because if dealers can buy them for $129 from Aim, the price may come down a bit in the near future. I don't think you will get a better deal than $170 so I would buy it if I were you.
BTW, I have a Star Firestar and a Star B that are both really good guns. The Firestar is very accurate and the Model B is just cool. I need a Star BM to add to my Star collection, if I see one soon, I will buy that instead of the Mak I was thinking about getting.

I've had a 9mm Star BM for about 15 + years now and couldn't ask for a more dependable gun. I probably put about 800 rounds, both factory and reloads, through it . I can't even remember when it ever jammed or failed to fire, if it ever did. Nothing has ever needed replacement, not even the recoil spring. I use this gun as my carry piece as it is light and small and easily concealable. I would recommend this gun/model to anyone. This gun is a copy of the 1911 series, only it doesn't have the grip safety.
