Proper Position when Using AK-type Offset Optics?

I am using a PK-AS on my WASR AK's left-side optics rail. I don't believe there is any way I can fix my cheek to the stock and still see the red dot with my right eye.

How do you guys aim like this? Do you just not weld your cheek to anything?

If you look at the Russians in their training pix, they adopt a "head up" position when using their reflex optics.

He's talking about side-offset. The Pk-AS sits about an inch to the left of the bore.

I dunno. I kinda have the same question. One thing I was told to try was to use your left eye. It kinda works. About as good as using your right eye. :uhoh:

The red dot works pretty well with a sloppy cheekweld. I just sort of hover my face by the stock, and it does OK.

I think I'd get a different mount. I don't have any problem with mine.

What about one of those cheekpads that wrap around the buttstock like you sometimes see on scoped M1A's? Fattening up the stock with one would offset your head to the left...

I personally don't have any experience with left-offset optics, as my Kobra sits on the centerline. But it does sit high.

Aimed fire does not serve party and state, comrade...
