Or any other rifle deemed to be banned.I am currently debating on non-gun forum about the proposed gun ban that has people from all walks of life.

There are a couple typically questioning "Why do you need one?" and don't believe me that these rifles are used for peaceful sporting purposes.I need some photos to hopefully show them the truth.thanks

"Black rifles" DOMINATE centerfire target competition AND recreational target shooting in the United States. They are also the most common defensive carbines in U.S. homes. You might also point out that more Americans own "assault weapons," as defined by H.R.1022 et seq, than hunt.

They are NOT being used for nefarious purposes; rifles of ANY type are involved in only 3% of U.S. murders, per the FBI Uniform Crime Reports (Table 20, Murder, by State and Type of Weapon). And police-officer deaths are currently the lowest they've been since 1961.

There is a lot of good info here, if you're interested:

And a photographic illustration of why banning "assault weapons" is stupid:

Modern styling does not make a NON-automatic, small-caliber civilian rifle any "deadlier." It has no bearing on lethality.

Try the Civilian Marksmanship Program at www.odcmp.com

They should have useful photos.

Mike I did aleady include a camp Perry link, but some photos to put on photobucket to post them straight out in front of their eyes I want also.

But I need civilians doing shooting, not army teams, that will make some just think that yeah see only the military needs them.

I'm all for EBRs to be viewed as mainstream. However, I do not want to paint them a being acceptable in only "non-threatening" configurations.

I purchased mine as a weapon. Period. I don't hunt; so I intend for it to be used to protect my family and home.

That said, I derive a great deal of pleasure in taking it out to the range and practicing though. It is very Zen to focus your entire being and place your shots onto a target where you intend the round to strike. It is also wonderful to know that this weapon system is well represented in sporting circles. It really is a great rifle and fun to shoot as it doesn't beat you up.

David true,it has been pointed out that they are capable of self protection however there are some that believe they were "only made for killing" and can't notion the fact that there are sporting purposes also, these photos will provide optic evidence that there is.

There are some I debate that will never see the light and agree fine, however there are the lurkers that will read and hopefully those will think. There are the hunters saying "they aren't hurting sportsmen" by banning these that hopefully see the light....

I agree. The more mainstream or broader the spectrum of appeal the better.

In my experience, non-shooters have no idea what goes on at a range. Those "bump-firing" videos on You Tube don't help.

Here are some good videos, some of which might open some eyes to a world they don't even know exists:

This one has lots of well-adjusted young people, male and female, shooting black rifles, as well as pistols.
