Why heck yeah :D. Reading the newspaper this afternoon, came across an article stating there will be a state sales tax holiday for gun purchases in November.

48 hours period begins 12:01 am Nov 28th to midnight Nov 30th. Handguns, rifles, and shotguns only. No ammo or accessories.

Scroll down to the "what's new" section, PDF details.

Nice time to visit South Carolina folks.

Normally, going into debt except for a modest home and car is downright stupid, but I say this is a good time to warm up the credit card if you don't have the cash. We need to show support for this. A right cannot legally be taxed ANYWAY, and South Carolina is the first state to pull it's sales tax off the back of the 2nd amendment (albeit temporarily).

.... I wish I lived in South Carolina... QUIT RUBBING IT IN MY FACE!!!!!:cuss:

Buy all you can and enjoy one of the few states that seem to having things closer to right than wrong.

This is the first time is history that Texas is not the best place to live, well at least on Nov 28th! Good stuff.

I am jealous! First in succession and now this? You might just take Tennessee place as my second favorite state!

Yeah I hear ya. It would be nice if other states would follow.

Realistically, how many times has $20-30-40.00 been a deal breaker? This moves that out of the picture.

Add some of the rebates that are being offered, it could end up being a pretty good deal.

I heard about it Friday, that is the first time that I can remember SC doing this. Why I don't know. But whatever I do plan to take advantage of it and buy something however small it may be.

So far, I've only seen two letters to the editor against it in the local paper. Pretty muted reaction.

That would be "secession." Technically, you can't be first in "succession." :D

I'm glad this is taking place, but it would help me out a lot more if it applied to ammunition.

Vermont sometimes does tax holidays, but they're never gun specific. Sounds awesome. The last time VT had a tax holiday the local gun shop was so mobbed I had to park across the street.
