Well I have been thinking about purchasing the Dream Season Scent Lok suit and the price for top and bottom is around 280.00. I have never used Scent Lok so I was wondering are these suits really worth this much money and do they work great? I would like to know before I spend alot of money on some top of the line gear.

Even with the suit you need to pay attention to the wind and be a skilled hunter, so I don't think they are effective. With or without the suit you will do the same thing and most likely have the same end result so why spend the extra money.

I wouldn't even consider it... Spend that $200 on gas and just hunt more.

No not a chance; not worth 1/4th that.

The problem I see with any suit, scent spray, or whatever, is we're still carrying a rifle covered with smelly oil and solvent. Just work the wind and save yourself some money.

Wind trumps everything else. That being said, if this suit will keep you warm and dry, is well made, looks good, and you can afford it, then I don't see anything wrong in buying it.

I own a suit and I do not notice a difference. Play the wind and save your money.

That statement just made a light bulb go off. Now I have this strong desire to kill a deer while hunting in a tuxedo, and take pictures of myself and post them everytime someone touts Realtree Advantage as being 100 times better than Mossy Oak Obsesssion. :D

Wind. A little human smell escaping from your breath will give you away. You can smell like $@!^ and it don't matter with the wind in your favor.
Spend the money on ammo.

You know some place that rents stinky tuxedos?? :D

Just kidding, I understand your point! I loaned out my wool capote coat to a friend, whose wife washed it for me with ALL FABRIC CHEER!. I didn't notice it until I was actually wearing it in the woods and it started to drizzle rain..., phew I thought I stank, and I knew if I could smell me, deer sure could.

I kept hunting, I just faced into the wind, and sure enough a button buck came from that direction and I got him.

Later I read Van Dyke's The Still Hunter. Wind direction is incredibly important!

This really did happen to me,,A freind of mine sold amway products,So he showed me the waterpruff spray he had,so he sprayed a tissue, and cuped it sure enough that tissue held the water, not even a drop came out,OHHHH i want two cans, and he showed me some insect replete too..Oh i want a can of that,,so right be fore the opening day of deer season,,I watch the weather forcast, sure enough, ran for the first day,Now this years before they had the new types of rain gear, gortext and all..so i take all my outer, clothes out side and Im spraying them all over,,thinking the while time,, God does this stink,phew.. i guess the stink will leave once it drys.wow it never left,oh no what is going on,.. Here I used the insect repellent,,,,damn cans were the same size and almost same color.what AM i going to do now..I know i'll wash it.I did,, never helped..oh well..I went out,,and killed a 7 point in the rain with me insect outer gear,So you have to play the wind, save your money, use charcol.and out your clothes in a bag with charcol.the money you save, you can buy a new tree stand, you'll do better in a tree, and watch your wind, then to buy one of them over priced scent blocker clothes,
