I am converting a spare 1100 into a HD special. I would like a butt stock with a shorter length of pull than factory. Rather than cutting the original walnut, I have a shorter 870 butt stock I would like to try. Are these interchangable?

If not I guess I will buy the speedfeed shorter stock.

No, they are not interchangeable. 1100 wood is cheap and available though......

IIRC an 1100 stock will work on an 870, but not the reverse. Like H says, it won't be hard to find a new stock.

You are correct Dave, you can use an 1100 stock on the 870 but need a larger washer to secure it.
