I was looking at a Mossberg Single Shot SSI-ONE on an auction site in 30-06 for about $400.00. Has anyone heard anything good or bad about these rifles. Are they made well, shoot well? I didn't even know they existed. They look pretty good from the pictures, but what does that really mean? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I've handled one, but not shot it. Seems to be a fairly well made rifle, fitting wasn't bad, finish was clean. But it seems to be abit over-priced, especially when you look at the H&R/NEF rifles.

Like Okie, I've handled one but have not shot it. The SSI appears to be well made, but I wouldn't pay $400 for one.

Thanks guys. I was just wondering if it was going to be more like the Ruger N0. 1 or like a handi rifle. Sounds like its not like the Ruger.

Better than the Handi-rifle, no doubt, but far removed from the Ruger.

Looked over one last weekend----barrel actually appeared to be free-floated------but for the money they wanted ----it wasn't that nice-----as stated before---I'd go with the cheaper Handi-Rifle----or go the extra mile for a #1.
