G'day from Oztralia
I've got a Taurus PT99AFS. I'm having a consistent problem:confused:
- a fired case still in the chamber
- a new round trying to get into the same chamber (nosing out of the magazine)
- result = jamomatic
Anyone out there had this problem or can suggest cause and cure?
Cheers

With the weapon pointed in a safe direction - load up a magazine with a few rounds (9mm dummy rounds/snapcaps are better, but most folk don't have those laying around), chamber a round (KEEP THE FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER), and work the slide to chamber and eject the rounds. If the rounds fail to eject when hand-cycling unfired ammo, you probably have a broken extractor.

Hi rbernie
Yep - tried cycling by hand with dummy ammo and every 4 or 5 rounds it jammed. So, it looks like I need to buy a new extractor. Thanks for your advice and the offer of a beer, anytime you're in Australia, stands.
Cheers

Check both the extractor and its spring, and I'd recommend replacing both at the same time.

Hi Rbernie
Fitted both - works perfectly. I had to buy a Beretta 92 extractor and spring from the Numrich people, cos I couldn't get any Taurus parts in Australia. The Numrich people were real fast in getting the parts out to me in Australia (I've been out of town for a few days and just got around to fitting the parts).
Thanks very much for your help - the offer of a few beers stands if you ever visit Down Under.
Cheers
