I've been a member of this board since October 2006. Many of you will say that back then this board was a great board to read.

Now, it's just full of whiners... most of whom are the moderators.

One of the best threads theads going, at least one of the most entertaining, was "I'm selling my guns" created by MIL-DOT. No, there was no serious content on there, but it was funny. There were four pages before it was shut down because some over zealous moderator shut it down.

Sometimes, you just need to have some fun with stupid humor and that's what that thread was all about. With all of the bitching and moaning about having to pay taxes on ammo and those complaining about the "gun rush".

So go ahead and ban me Mr. Moderator for speaking my peice and lock down this thread!

The locks of socialism have just begun in American life. Be happy that so far it really hasn't reached your home.

You're complaining about all the whining by...whining?

I don't think this thread will be locked, btw.

I think allowing a thread to go on for four pages when it doesn't really say anything is pretty generous.

IN>IL,

Why would you get banned for complaining about a silly thread being closed after 4 pages of sillyness?

You're complaining about all the whining by...whining?:D

I was thinking exactly the same thing.

I don't know about whiners, but I have seen... favoritizm I suppose to "Senior Members" by the moderators.

I am not as educated on the gun rules and laws, and come here for support/education on the subject. So I normally end up posting questions others see as "retarded". When such members feel that I/others have posted a "retarded" comment they normally end up posting unhelpful comments using inflamitory language. When I do speak my opinion (being that as long as you start your insult with "in my opinion" its not an insult here on THR.org) back my posts are deleted and/or locked, under the gumption I am attacking other members when "in my opinion" I am retaliating.

There are not many members on THR.org that I have described above, but when they rear their "in my opinion" elitest heads. They can make it very discouraging to ask further questions that may be seen as "retarded". Whlie all I want to do is set a good example to less then gun pro people by making sure I know the rules and follow them.

Please give us a link or two to threads demonstrating what you are saying is happening so we can take a look.

No offense, but this is about the most retarded thing I've ever seen anyone post on a public forum.

Can't find another one I posted about the .308 round, and it wasn't anything major. It was basicly because I asked a question on the range of the round I shouldn't be shooting anyways.

I may seem like a puff for "tell'n" on others, but as I said this is a place where I value the minds and experances people have had. When it seems I get ran off for coming here for information I just don't see the point in posting.

You are correct - that post was completely uncalled for especially considering all the verbiage that took place before it was posted. However, I also note that your response was even more "personal" than the post you responded to.

Trust me on this one - the moderating staff does not take any status of membership into consideration when deleting posts or banning members. A member with 8,000 posts who joined on day 1 is just as likely to be banned for a gross transgression as someone who joined yesterday with 1 post. It's happened far more times than just once.

As for "tellin' on others", a better method to report an undesirable post is to press the "Report this post" button ( http://www.thehighroad.org/images/buttons/report.gif ) and give us a short explanation of why the post is unacceptable.

Will start using the button. Once someone takes the gloves off I'm down to play, but will start using the button or PM instead of public posts.
