Really...? Ok, fine. I've said it now for all you fence-sitting idjits that don't/won't join because of something you heard attributed to them once upon a rumour.

Can we all kindly pull our heads out of our collective butts, and at least join the NRA. But if for some inexplicable reason, you just can't, then join one of the following -- the CCKRKBA, the 2nd Amendment Foundation, GOA, JPFO.

NRA is first pick, because they are the biggest, the oldest, irritate the Nancy Pelosiboxerbidenbamas of America, AND DO MORE THAN ANY OTHER BODY OR ORGANIZATION TO PROTECT YOUR 2ND AMENDMENT RIGHTS.

Are they perfect? No. But they're way ahead of everything else.

Thank you for listening.

Yea, calling people "fence sitting idiots" is a great way to influence people. Just keep avoiding the deep seeded REASONS that people don't join the nra (but please go see my thread where I just joined for $10 even though I despise much of the nra's past behavior AND Lapierre's salary).

RE: Dickens character 'Beatle Bumble', if you do then you "are a ass, a idiot".

Less the NRA we would TRULY be IN the same toilet bowl as the Brits.

JOIN!

I don't see any reason not to belong to one if not two of these groups if yo own a firearm..it's just towing your share of the line. However, I know some serious collectors that don't contribute.

Well, I ain't gonna join because I heard that they only endorse candidates that support RKBA and the 2A. What a bunch of jerks!

Hint: If you're favorite candidate WASN'T endorsed by the NRA, or was even OPPOSED by the NRA, maybe, just maybe, its because he has made anti-2a statements. Politicians KNOW how to get on the NRA's bad side, and if they do so anyway.... oh well! The NRA isn't about healthcare reform, or gay rights, or public assistance... they're about gun rights. Period.

What a bunch of jerks!

I think all political organizations are jerks. Maybe it comes with the territory, but these jerks are trying to protect our firearm rights, and they can do so better with our help then without.

You could form a 5 man group in your area that does what the NRA does probably more to your liking, but who is going to listen to just a tiny group like that.

Your added number as a member means a lot.

My not joining the NRA has more to do with the fact that while they are the biggest, I think their focus is off base. What I mean by that - is while they fight for 2nd rights - they do so in a round-a-bout sort of way. Instead of stopping anti-gun legislation in Washington, which let's face it - they have a poor record on, they run around and fight to keep individual states on "our side" of the law.
This is counter-productive. It's the federal policy it's self that's the problem.
I have limited resources, and rather than devoting resources to causes that pay executives a ton of money and spend time and energy into courting already pro-gun candidates into remaining pro-gun, I instead spend my time and resources working on changing the minds of "on the fence" people, supporting candidates locally who are pro-gun, and working to change the focus of my party from the inside (yea, i'm a Dem).
I feel I can do far more with my time and efforts in that regard than sending a check to the NRA will ever accomplish.
Nevermind that I roll my eyes every time I see some of their outlandish statements. I see first hand the response from the anti crowd when they gear up for one of their battles. I'll tell you now, their tactics do more to solidify the anti movement than any news piece, or any tragic shooting event ever.

So, in short - I don't hate the NRA, I just don't agree with their tactics, or how they choose to go about doing what they do.

What a bunch of jerks--Now he has REAL logic. We are in a sad situation with that kind of thinking.

Ok, let's try this again, but without all the name calling. And let's try to say something new instead of repeating what's been said a dozen times in the past few days.

Folks may be passionate about this issue, but we have rules on civility so we can conduct a debate instead of a shouting match.
