A poll for the members... Whatcha got?

November 12, 2008, 02:41 PM
Just for kicks, lets see how comprehensive our collections are. Does anybody own at least one of each category? (I'll be over to borrow a few if you do!) Lets see if every serious gun colector really does have at least one revolver.

I'll be first up: I've got the revolver and bolt action rifle categories covered! :)

I was well represented in some of the categories, but lost all of my arms when our canoe capsized on Lake Erie summer '08. The rest I gave away -figured I'm safer without them anyway.

Strange... the lady at the psychic hotline said that I'd be involved in a boating accident, too, and that it would happen shortly after the purchase of an AR-15. :scrutiny:

November 12, 2008, 02:59 PM
Yes sadly I've lost 3 canoes and a pontoon boat this fall and each time they were bearing guns, all I have left is an inner tube and a bolt action .22 and I try to keep them apart for fear of another catastrophy.

November 12, 2008, 03:01 PM
I also have a pump rifle.

a sxs shotgun

couple of single shot shotguns

November 12, 2008, 03:03 PM
Everything but the fully autos,I don't need the hassles and the hoops to jump through.I missed the ''other'' catagory,my Corsair double barreled .44 percussion pistol could have gone there.

November 12, 2008, 03:09 PM
I voted other for my ruger #1, no category for single shot rifle unless I missed it. I guess it could fall under lever action.

an A-4 Skyhawk loaded with Zuni rockets~! :D

Just like the one John McCain flew in 'Nam. ;)

November 12, 2008, 03:27 PM
I tried to include everything... but a few types of firearms escaped my mind. Also, I'm limited by THR to 16 categories in any poll.

November 12, 2008, 03:30 PM
these boating accidents are also common here in SwitzerlandMan, boat violence is becomming an worldwide epidemic! Why won't the politicians pass laws against these darned boats before more innocent .223 caliber children are drowned in their prime? :D

November 12, 2008, 03:31 PM
The only one I have that isn't on that list is a pump action rifle.

November 12, 2008, 03:33 PM
I too had many of those categories, but I sold all of my guns before the election because I didn't want the hassle. I sold them all face to face at gun shows, and after checking ID to make sure they weren't out of staters, and asking them the 4473 questions, I made the sale and kept no records. I am now gun free!

My "Something Else's" not in the poll are:

1. Single shot Rifle, and
2. Air guns (both single shot rifles and single shot pistols)
3. Combo guns (one rifle bbl, one shotgun bbl, single shot break action)(this category could include drillings)

Can you re-do it and add those three, plus pump rifles and double rifles? Oops, sorry, I guess not, since you're at the max poll results of 16. Dangit, can a moderator please change the max poll number to 20 instead of 16? :)

I also have a pump rifle.
a sxs shotgun
couple of single shot shotguns

i don't think those last two qualify as "other". the poll lists "breach loading shotgun", which i take to mean O/U, SxS, or single-shot.

November 12, 2008, 04:46 PM
Semi-auto pistols & rifles, revolvers, bolt actions, full-auto rifles & pistols. My "something else" category includes several silencers/sound suppressors, and a couple beltfed machineguns. Since I sold my Mossberg, I need to get another shotgun soon (trying to find a Saiga or two).

November 12, 2008, 05:27 PM
...before the boating accident, anyways, I had a nice collection of EBRs and a Mossberg 500 8-shot.

My other is a double barreled shotgun (SxS)

November 12, 2008, 11:04 PM
I was taking all my firearms with me to an African Safari and the &*&$# airline lost all my luggage. I am still waiting for the return of my collection.

November 12, 2008, 11:32 PM
Where's the option for pump action rifle or lever action shotgun?

XD-40 Shooter
November 12, 2008, 11:39 PM
Pump 12 gauge(Mossberg 500), semi-auto pistol (XD-40), semi-auto rifle (Yugo SKS), revolver (Taurus 357), and bolt action rifle (Marlin 22 mag).

November 13, 2008, 02:01 AM
I voted for something else on top of my other pics. As I own an Sharps and a Rolling Block neither of those seemed to fit anywhere.

November 13, 2008, 05:38 AM
It seems like every week there is someone asking what kind and how many guns we have. Hmmmmm

Kind of Blued
November 13, 2008, 06:28 AM
I'm kind of surprised to see bolt-actions rifles so low.

November 13, 2008, 06:33 AM
Every thing but the full autos and black powder guns...

I do also have a bolt action shot gun and a lever action shot gun.

November 13, 2008, 08:06 AM
Us bolt action shotgunners get no love...........

November 13, 2008, 09:12 AM
Current collection is pretty small:

.22 short revolver (in survival kit)
.22 lr revolver
Sig P226 9mm
Bersa Thunder 380 (actually, it's my girlfriend's)
Savage 12 guage pump shotgun
Broken Savage 12 guage pump shotgun
Polish AKMS (I love this gun... so much)
CMMG AR-15 stripped receiver, which will be a full rifle before christmas (woot!)

Wish list of next purchases (in order):
Sig Mosquito .22 with suppressor (coming early 2009, when tax return comes back)
Ciener .22 kit for AR-15 (because I like quite things, and a suppressed .22 is freakishly quiet)
SWR 9mm suppressed upper for AR-15 (This gun is quieter than a suppressed .22. F*** yeah!)
Bushmaster Carbon 15 pistol in either 9mm or .223 (haven't decided, but if I get the 9mm, I'm getting a suppressor for it)
GSG5 .22 with built in Gemtech suppressor

If I ever live in a state that allows them, I'm totally getting a full auto SBR'd M4.

Anybody get the impression that I might like suppressors? I freaking love quiet guns.

ETA: I totally forgot about my .25 auto. I have a Raven .25.

November 13, 2008, 09:24 AM
My own two "Something Elses" are several pump action rifles and a couple of combination guns (both O/U rifle/shotgun).

November 13, 2008, 11:35 AM
I had no idea that boating accidents where so common. It never fails you are always at the deepest part too. Good insurance pays, I was able to replace the boat, unfortunately the guns are still at the bottom.

November 13, 2008, 02:08 PM
Wow, I expected the levers to be a little higher

November 13, 2008, 06:51 PM
How about...
A sharps rifle in 45-70 (single shot)
a .22 sharps and hankin four-barrel pocket pistol. (not a revolver; four non-revolving barrels lit by one firing pin; not exactly a derringer and not really a pepperbox either)

Both of them were originally designed for black powder cased ammunition, but will also eat (and are now fed) modern "smokeless" ammo.

November 13, 2008, 07:26 PM
I answered "Else" because I have no guns, no ammo, nothing!!!
